Soccer goalkeeper, Jaden Sloup, has his eye on Ella Kennedy, a woman who
won’t date jocks or frat boys. He dons a pair of nerd glasses and hugs a
laptop to convince her he’s a techno geek, and she agrees to go to Las
Vegas with him for a cosplay convention where his team’s playoff game
happens to be.
Jaden must juggle sizzling in the sheets with Ella against a soccer match and hanging with his frat brother teammates. When a bully harasses Ella and challenges Jaden to a fight, he proves that even a goalie can score.

For a short read, it was a good one. Kept my attention throughout and the characters where easy to like, and the conversation after the book ended had me laughing.
Ella is an anime nerd. She seems sweet but some times I wonder if she really lives in this reality. She doesn't like jocks because she thinks they all are alike. But then she meets Jaden who plays on a soccer team as the goalie, and he is one hell of a goalie. He knows that Ella doesn't go out with jocks, so he pretends to be a techno nerd and prays he doesn't get caught.
Their relationship seems to progress pretty fast but then again he is trying to keep this secret from her, so he is always trying to juggle soccer and her. I was tired just reading about him trying to keep his secret. This story did keep my attention and I giggled in some spots and really liked how both of their feelings really started to show but I wish more of their feelings showed during the sex scenes. To me it seemed the sex between them was not how sex should be between two people who really are having feelings for each other. Ella didn't seem comfortable with the talking during sex. That was the only part of the story that I couldn't get into.
My favorite part is at the end of the story where the characters take over. I laughed so hard because I have never read a story that let the characters take over after the story is over. More stories should allow them to do that, it was so funny. I felt during this time was when the true Ella and Jaden came out.
I will read more of this authors stories because I did enjoy it. I want to know more about this couple and other couples in her other stories. Jaden and Ella are on my list of great characters!

Thanks so much Barb, for your review. The other characters will be in an upcoming book by my best writing buddy, Dani Evans, called The Next Contestant. Watch for it soon. :)
